Giving Life to the Land: Deep Artesian Water Wells Across Kyrgyzstan

Against the backdrop of the snow-capped Tian Shan mountains, water might appear abundant. Yet in rural Kyrgyz villages, dilapidated infrastructure and harsh winters leave thousands of families without reliable access to safe drinking water. The Altyn Uya Public Foundation addresses this urgent need through durable, deep artesian water wells.

80 to 140 Metres: Reaching Pristine Aquifers

Shallow surface water in rural regions poses severe contamination risks and freezes during cold months. Our engineering methodology is designed to last for decades:

  • Hydrogeological Surveys: Advanced surveys pinpoint pristine, deep aquifers isolated from surface pollutants.
  • Industrial Drilling: Drilling between 80 and 140 metres with stainless steel casing and high-efficiency submersible pumps.
  • Winter-Resistant Design: Specialised frost-proof insulation helps keep water flowing in winter, even when temperatures fall to between −25 °C and −30 °C.
  • Accredited Laboratory Testing: Full chemical and microbiological testing conducted in laboratories accredited by the Ministry of Health before public handover. After handover to the village administration, we follow up on each well and share reports with donors.

“Bringing clean water to a village protects the health of hundreds of children and brings renewed hope to entire communities.”
